2005
In 2005, we broadened our horizons to include laser alignment and balancing of all drive units including gearboxes and conveyers as well as core drilling.
2007
In 2007 we expanded even further to include supplying and installing ball and rod mills and manufacturing and installing complete Sheeve Wheel assemblies for Anglo Platinum.
2001
Established – Gawie Stoltz started GCD Laser in 2001 and the company was build around his expertise in balancing, vibration and fans in general.
2002
First underground fan installation.
2004
First project outside South Africa (Botswana)
2007
Became vendor for Anlgo Platinum. First complete installations for Anglo Platinum, expanded to manufacturing of Sheave wheels and rod mill installations.
2009
Expanded to core drilling. Started with refurbishment projects.
2012
Became Original Equipment Manufacturer of GCD New Generation Inlet Guide Vane (IGV). Complete design, manufacturing, supply and installation of IGV. First unit installed August 2012 (still in service)
2013
Design, manufacturing, supply and installation of GCD Vortex breaker.
2014
Self-closing door installation. Became Original Equipment Manufacturer of GCD Self-closing doors.
2016
Fan service engineer contract in Zambia, Mopani Copper Mine.
2020
Design, manufacture, supply and install complete new Impeller. More than 100 units of GCD New Generation IGV’s have been installed throughout South Africa.
